He began his investment career in the mid-1990s as an investment consultant with Towers Perrin (now Willis Towers Watson).

Phil has over 35 years’ experience as an actuary, investment advisor and portfolio manager. He has worked with an extensive range of institutional investors across diverse areas such as strategic asset allocation and ALM, manager research, medium-term asset allocation, portfolio construction and risk management. Much of Phil’s career has been at Willis Towers Watson and predecessor firm Towers Perrin, as well as PSolve (now part of Schroders), IBM and St James’s Place. At WTW, Phil was responsible for developing their smart and alternative beta propositions, which involved working collaboratively with a wide range of fund managers to build many unique propositions.

Steve began his investment career at Scottish Amicable Investment Managers in Glasgow in the 1980s before working as a pensions actuary at Hymans Robertson, Actuaries & Consultants. There, he discovered that selling the firm’s services was much more enjoyable than producing actuarial valuations, and he joined Barclays Global Investors as an Institutional Sales Director in 1998.

Peter began his career in UK Equity sales and corporate broking before moving to fund management. He has over 40 years' experience in the financial industry, most recently as head of business development at the Pension SuperFund, a prototype DB pension consolidator.

Justin is an impact investment specialist with over 20 years experience in supporting the design and deployment of private capital to create better opportunities for vulnerable communities. These investments have positively impacted hundreds of thousands of lives across a diverse range of countries globally, with an emphasis on emerging markets. His wide-spanning career history has included working for a range of impact asset allocators including international non-for-profits, the United Nations and a major private foundation He serves as a board member and adviser to a number of microfinance institutions and international charities engaged in supporting the livelihoods of low income communities. He is also a non-executive director on the Guernsey domiciled Fund 1, of the Partners Group backed impact investment fund Blue Earth Capital.

Michelle brings over 25 years of legal, corporate finance and fiduciary experience to impact investment. Prior to joining Innovest in 2016, Michelle was a Senior Partner of a US law firm, specialising in corporate finance transactions, including initial public offerings, structured finance and M&A transactions. After relocating to the UK she established the UK subsidiary of a global legal and financial services firm serving international capital markets clients. Upon leaving commercial practice, Michelle served as an advisor and fiduciary of nonprofits and social finance initiatives, helping to facilitate the strategic deployment of philanthropic and social investment capital to achieve social change.
